An incandescent bulb in the microwave glows purple or green for a few seconds. There are lots of cool videos on youtube. I've done it several times with great results, but this time the bulb exploded at the end! Even so, I recommend trying it if you have an old microwave, a safe place, a some curiosity handy. Just be sure you turn it off after ~10 seconds.
