This daily thought was going to be "The oxford comma is not optional!". But I figured it needed a link to the wikipedia article so people would know what an oxford comma was, and then I started reading the article. It seems like there are some cases where it would better be left off.
but now that I think about it more, in all of those cases the author of the sentence could have avoided ambiguity by using a different sentence construction entirely.
So now I'm back to my original stance. It should always be included.
